Firehouse Chili Lunch
Over 1000 meals are served each year. Over the years, money raised from the Chili Lunch has been donated to causes such as Operation Safe House, the Gorman Heritage Farm, St. Rita School for the Deaf, and the American Red Cross for the Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund. Operation Safe House is an ongoing program administered by the Evendale Fire Department. The Safe House consists of a mobile unit which is taken to schools to train children on safety in the household and safety during dangerous weather conditions. The Gorman Heritage Farm is a not-for-profit farm located in the center of Evendale. Children from surrounding schools have the rare opportunity to visit a working farm with animals.
Please join us as for a community oriented lunch served by the Evendale Fire Department staff, maybe make some new friends and contacts and support a great cause. Each ticket purchase enters you in our huge door prize drawing made available by local business donations. During the event we will award the 2017 Christopher Dyer Memorial Scholarships to four deserving college bound students.
