Christopher Dyer Memorial Scholarship Fund
The Evendale Chamber of Commerce and the Philanthropy Committee are committed to helping provide college financial assistance in the form of four $1000 scholarships annually to students in our community. We see this as a simple way to give back to our community that we live and work in. Our goal is to give these scholarships in memory of an Evendale resident, Christopher Dyer.
Scholarship Funding Approach
The Evendale Chamber Annual Golf Outing is the primary fundraiser for these scholarships. This annual event provides an opportunity for participants and others to meet new people while enjoying a little fun in the sun!
Don't worry if you are not a golfer the event is in scramble format so it takes the pressure off, come enjoy the fun and laughs while contributing to a great cause. Take advantage of the opportunity to gain exposure for your business by particpating as a sponsor.

In Memory of Christopher Dyer
Chris Dyer moved to Evendale, Ohio with his parents when he was only 1. He attended Evendale Elementary, Princeton Junior High, and Princeton High school, where he was an IB Diploma Candidate. He played viola with the Princeton HS Orchestra and participated in nearly every sport they offered, though he particularly enjoyed diving. He had been accepted into the Honors Program at Ohio State. During his senior year in high school, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps Reserves and completed basic training in September 2004. He then completed the School of Infantry and joined his unit in Columbus, Lima Co, 3rd battalion, 25th Marines late in 2004, just as they were being activated for service in Iraq. This unit was awarded 59 Purple Hearts, 23 of which were posthumous, out of 170 deployed. Chris and 13 other Marines were killed in action 3 August, 2005, in Anbar Province, Iraq. He was 19. He is interred at Arlington National Cemetery.
